Enjoyed meeting you in Dallas.  I'm writing with an invitation I hope will resonate with you.

We are developing a new digital OCIA curriculum for the Catholic Church, and we would be honored to feature your conversion testimony as part of it. What we have in mind is distinctive: a short animated film, five to ten minutes long, rendered in the style of Japanese anime, narrated in your own voice. Given the role Japan played in your own story, we felt the visual language carried a particular resonance — a testimony of grace told through an art form that traces back to where so much of your own journey began.

The commitment on your end would be modest. We would need roughly three hours of your time for a recording session in front of a green screen. We are happy to come to you in Steubenville, or, if you'd prefer a change of scenery, to fly you to San Diego, put you up, and build in a few extra days so you can get some surfing in. Whatever is easiest for your schedule and most restful for you.

In gratitude for your participation, we would like to offer a $5,000 honorarium — payable to you directly or as a donation to the Marians of the Immaculate Conception, whichever you prefer.

A few points I want to be clear about up front, because your comfort matters to us: You would have final say over the finished piece. Before anything is released, you will be able to review the testimony in full and request any revisions or corrections you feel are needed. Nothing goes out without your approval.

​

The film would be used in three possible contexts: as part of our OCIA curriculum available to parishes; as a standalone educational course offered online outside of an OCIA setting; and potentially as part of a military ministry resource that a chaplain and a serviceman or servicewoman could work through together. In each case, the aim is the same — to bring your witness to people who need to hear it.

For timing, we have flexibility anywhere between September and December, and would gladly work around your commitments.
